 Adrienne is a 30 year-old woman with big dreams and great expectations of life. Sometimes her expectations are a little too big for her fiance' James. James is content with his $15 an hour blue collar job, his life with Adrienne, and "the boys. To Adrienne, James just never seems excited about anything but hanging out with "the boys", but in spite of it she loves him and they're getting married. After all, what else do you do after living together for the past ten years?
When Adrienne meets Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsom (Daniel Pierce) she starts to have second thoughts about her ten-year relationship with James. Daniel Pierce is the VP of European accounts for a high profile accounting firm. He's single, no kids, and keeping both eyes on Adrienne. Adrienne makes it perfectly clear that she is not interestd. After all she is getting married soon enough, but Daniel's extensive travel to Europe is intriguing to Adrienne and she sees the perfect opportunity to get information for her company's international newsletter. She pumps Daniel for stories about his trips abroad over lunch everyday, during their walks in the park, and sometimes during their long telephone conversations. This was the best platonic relationship she had ever had with a man. Daniel was like a girlfriend to her. Adrienne could talk to him about things she usually talked to her best girl friend about. Adrienne was the happiest she had ever been in her life. She was getting married to James in a couple of months and had this wonderful friendship with Daniel. Life is just grand until...
Adrienne's world is turned upside down when Daniel's love for her is revealed. Adrienne is forced to take a long hard look at her life with James and recognize the hidden feelings she has for Daniel.
